By living and working in Thailand you well get a lot more time to discover the country than your average tourist and we have put together some useful things to do and places to see in Thailand which we hope you will find useful.
There are literally thousands of places to see and things to do, hopefully our suggestions willl give you some ideas so you can have the best time possible.
1. Visit the Magical Elephant Nature Park
We highly recommend visiting or volunteering with the Elephant Nature Park located near to Chaing Mai, Northern Thailand.
This is a special where elephants can roam and live free lives away from the toruist and logging industries. You can visit, learn more about this creates and the work being done to protect them and get some great photos and memories.
2. Chill Out in, Phi Phi
This is the island made famous from the film - The Beach with Leonardo Di Caprio.
There are lots of day tours here from places like Phuket, Phi Phi and Koh Lanta where you can go snorkelling and then dock and get pictures on Maya Bay. If you are not keen to go solo, then our Thailand tours will appeal to you.
3. Hilltribe Trek
In Northern Thailand around the Golden Triangle there are lots of treks and adventure trips where you can visit remote tribes and villages around the Myanmar and Laos Border. Trips usually last around 2 nights and 2 days but lots of options are available.
4. Full Moon Party
Experience one of the greatest and most famous parties in the world in Koh Pang Yan, in Southern Thailand. This is an amazing event where thousands of people arrive on the island to party and just revel in the beach atmosphere with drinks and music all night long.

5. Volunteer with Elephants
There are lots of rewarding conservation volunteer programs with elephants we have listed on our website which you can join throughout the year. Volunteering in Thailand is a magic experience!
6. Ride a Tuk Tuk in Bangkok
Wizz around the main highways and backstreets to see more of the Thai capital.
7. Boost Your Career
There are lots of opportunities to improve your skills and future whilst in the country. You could apply for internships in Thailand as local and international companies recruit new interns throughout the year. If you would like to gain a qualification then consider taking a TEFL course in Thailand - perfect if you would like to live and apply for a job teaching English in Thailand.
8. Get a Thai Massage
A world famous and very relaxing experience.
9. Sample the Local Cuisine
Visit a authentic Thai restaurant or same local street food, banana pankcakes are really tasty. Also get clothes made - from cheap suits which are made to measure and produced quickly to shoes, you can find everything in Thailand. Try to check out the Khaosan Road in Bangkok and barter for bargains with the locals or enjoy the bars and nightlife.

Head to some of the islands in the South - we recommend Koh Samui even though its really touristy, Koh Chang or for a larger less touristy island head to Koh Lanta.
