In the Fall of 2017, Hurricane Maria’s 155 mph ferocious winds plowed through the island of Puerto Rico, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

We are currently operating out of 2 bases in Puerto Rico – Barranquitas and Yabucoa.

Teams working in Barranquitas have begun moving towards the Recovery phase. They have assisted with mucking and gutting, debris removal, mould sanitations and cement and CGI roofing jobs. Yabucoa is still in the Response phase and teams have helped with the demolition of unsafe structures, debris removal, minor repair jobs and cement roofing. 

 

Requirements

We cannot accept volunteers under the age of 16. 16 and 17 year olds are able to Day Volunteer with us but must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Volunteers 18+ can stay on our base as Residential Volunteers.

 

We Provide:

1. Three simple meals on work days
2. Basic accommodation
3. All the necessary support and logistics for you to have a positive and productive volunteer experience

 

You must cover the cost of:

1. Travel to and from the program
2. Meals on your days off
3. Costs associated with any breaks
