Over 25 days’ time, you’ll head up the East Coast (and participate in wine tastings, gold panning and sheep shearing), fly to Alice Springs, then go down south to Kings Canyon, Uluru and Adelaide just to name a few destinations. The Great Ocean Road will eventually lead you to Melbourne, and a wide variety of accommodations and transport along the way will keep things exciting. Itinerary

Day 1 Sydney
Arrive at any time.

Day 2 Nundle Sheep Station
Travel to the Hunter Valley for a wine tasting. Overnight at a sheep station, including a shearing demonstration.

Day 3 Bingara
Visit a working mine and have a go at gold panning.

Day 4 Yamba
Travel to this beach town surrounded by Yuraygir NP. Go for a swim at the beach, relax and enjoy the view.

Day 5-6 Byron Bay
Take a surf lesson and zen out at a yoga class in this alternative hippie town. Free time to hit the beach, go skydiving, or try sea kayaking.

Day 7 Brisbane
Stop for lunch at the Gold Coast, then opt for a night out in Queensland's capital.

Day 8-9 Fraser Island
Travel to the world's largest sand island. Settle into the group's exclusive permanent tented camp in the bush by the beach. Explore all of the highlights by private 4x4.

Day 10 Cattle Country
Visit rural Queensland and learn about cattle station history. Bed down in a swag (canvas bedroll) under the Outback sky.

Day 11-12 Whitsunday Islands Sailing
Embark on a 3-day maxi yacht sailing adventure from Mackay to Airlie Beach through the Whitsundays, a unique route used only by G Adventures. Enjoy beach visits, island bush walks and time to snorkel the reefs. Anchor off of secluded tropical islands at night.

Day 13 Whitsundays/Whitehaven Beach/Airlie Beach
Hike to an island lookout over Whitehaven Beach, known for its stunning white sand. Sail to Airlie Beach for a night of dancing.

Day 14-15 Cairns
Admire the scenery on a full-day train ride through Queensland. Enjoy a free day to visit the Great Barrier Reef or get the adrenaline pumping by skydiving, whitewater rafting or bungee jumping.

Day 16 Alice Springs
Fly to Australia's interior and transfer to the hostel.

Day 17 Kings Creek/Uluru
Depart early for the Red Centre. Hike the awe-inspiring Kings Canyon before continuing on to Uluru.

Day 18 Uluru
Visit an Aboriginal cultural centre, do the informative Mala Walk to learn about the importantce of Uluru to the Aborigines, and catch the sunset over Uluru.

Day 19 Coober Pedy
Travel along a rugged track to Coober Pedy, the world's opal mining capital. After a guided tour of a mine, escape the heat by spending the night underground.

Day 20 William Creek
Travel along the Old Ghan Railway route. Cross the dingo fence and stop to explore a number of historic settler sites along the way.

Day 21 Beltana Station
Opt for a scenic flight over the great salt lake of Lake Eyre. Experience a one-of-a-kind overnight stay at a historic sheep station.

Day 22 Adelaide
Drive through the Flinders Ranges before a wine tasting in the Clare Valley.

Day 23 Grampians National Park
Trek through the forest of Grampians NP, lush with vegetation and wildlife.

Day 24 Port Campbell
Early morning walk and visit to an Aboriginal cultural centre, then travel along the Great Ocean Road, visiting the Arch and the 12 Apostles.

Day 25 Great Ocean Road/Melbourne
Visit Loch Ard Gorge and travel past world-famous surf beaches along the Great Ocean Road. Walk through the rainforest in Great Otway NP. Tour ends upon arrival to Melbourne in the evening; please book ongoing travel after 8pm.
