Our Course & Internship package lets you get a solid 12 weeks of teaching practice in the capital, Phnom Penh. There’s plenty of time for you to use your new TEFL skills whilst immersing yourself in local culture. From the moment you arrive you’ll have the support of our in-country experts with the chance to learn about Khmer culture and even pick up some of the local lingo!

Based in a private school, you’ll be teaching a wide range of students from 3-16 – all excited and ready to learn. Accommodation couldn’t be simpler as you’ll be sharing a room on campus with your intern buddies, thankfully it comes equipped with the all-important Wi-Fi! From the historic temples, to the amazing wildlife and the bustling bars – you won’t be short of things to do.

Your teacher training includes 120 hours of online TEFL training, plus 5 of our best specialist courses: Advanced Grammar, Teaching One-to-One, Lesson Planning, Teaching Business English and Teaching Young Learners. You only have to complete the basic 120 hour of training before you travel, but you’ll be prepared for any teaching situation with these amazing extras!

Trip details

Day 1: Arrival in Cambodia
Make sure you arrive at Phnom Penh airport between 6am and 8pm, our partners will meet you there to transfer you to your hotel. You’ll get the chance to meet the other interns and settle in over a welcome meal.

Day 2 - 3: Orientation in Phnom Penh
During your 2 day orientation you’ll learn about Khmer culture and history, what your role at your school will be like, and you’ll even get some language lessons!

Day 4 - 84: Your teaching experience
For 12 action packed weeks, you’ll be teaching at a private school within Phnom Penh, with students aged between 3 and 16. You’ll be living on the school campus, sharing a room with at least one other intern, with Wi-Fi available and lunch provided by the school during teaching.

Weekends are yours to enjoy, and interns usually leave their school campus to explore Cambodia. There are loads of fascinating things to do and see, plus our in-country staff are on hand with expert suggestions on how to spend your spare time.

Day 85: Transfer to Phnom Penh
Today you’ll be transferred back to central Phnom Penh for a night catching up with the other interns before your flight home or onward travel

Day 92: Time to say goodbye!
You’ll then be transferred back to Phnom Penh for a final special night eating, drinking and saying goodbye. Help will be on hand from our team to organise onward travel or the journey home.
