Instituto Hemingway was founded in 1999 right next to the city center in a historical building with fantastic views to both the old part of the town and river.

All of our professional, native-Speaking Spanish teachers are highly qualified and widely experienced to teach Spanish all year round.

We are a medium-sized school in a friendly atmosphere with students from all over the world. We have a reduced class-size with highly qualified teachers (20 hours per week in the mornings) offering free leisure and cultural activities Monday to Friday in the afternoons. We also offer accommodation arrangements.

We focus on Spanish language with programs all over Spain and other countries in Latin America. The Spanish language courses are always taken this undiscovered secret of Spain but internships, jobs, semesters, field trips, teaching English, volunteer programs etc can be taken anywhere in Spain.

Instituto Hemingway mission is to encourage our candidates to move beyond their comfort zone. We provide programs a la carte, a life changing experience – beyond just a touristy visit, but rather complete cultural immersion and building a new life abroad – without the huge risks involved with doing it alone.

learning Spanish in real Spain

I had a fun learning experience at Instituto Hemingway, Bilbao It was wonderful to have teachers that taught in Spanish only and since the classes are small, I had many opportunities to practice my conversational skills. They also provide a wide variety of activities & day trips to see the beautiful country of Spain! I would highly recommend Instituto Hemingway.

Best Spanish School ever

I would recommend this school to everyone interested in learning Spanish in Bilbao. I had a wonderful experience with Guadalupe, that is a teacher in Instituto Hemingway.
This school also organise extra activities, that from my point of view have been important to a faster learning. The classes were intensive and well programmed! The leaning environment was great and productive. Oscar & other teachers were amazing in organising classes , i still impressed. Wish all the best

Fantastic Experience!

I highly recommend this school. It truly distinguishes itself from other language schools. I spent 3 months at the school and thus encountered 3 different teachers all of whom where fantastic teachers, truly. Moreover, the school offers daily activities which alows you to really get to know the other students, leading to a 'family' and secure feeling within the school!

Incredible Company

I will always remember the moment in which I came across the the Cervantes Institute and my time studying at Instituto Hemingway. The chance to be endorsed by them inspired me to pass my language course as they are eminent educators of Spanish.
