Volunteers are critical to the project, supplying the labor, skills and enthusiasm to motivate the children and encourage them in their sports development and everyday life.  Volunteers will assist the community sporting program during the school holidays and after school hours.

The main objectives of the program are to develop community spirit through sports, teach children who may have had no sports experience and to build relationships throughout the community. It is held at the local community field and is a way to bring the community together and teach sporting and athletic skills that the local children would otherwise not have the opportunity to learn.

With poverty levels extremely high, many lack the funds to join organized teams.  Supplying this free program to local children opens up a whole new world to some children. Through supplying their time, international volunteers supply the ‘people power’ that allow this program to support these wonderful children.

Goals of this Project:

  • Improve the future prospects of Cameroons most vulnerable children
  • Alleviate health and social issues for the children of Cameroon by engaging them in sports and physical activity
  • Improve children’s sporting skills and encourage them to develop a love for physical activity
  • Create inter-cultural understanding which benefits both residents and international volunteers alike.
