Volunteers will be working directly with students at an elementary level directly teaching English to children and helping in the classrooms. This is a really hands on program, allowing either qualified teachers or non-teacher volunteers to work closely with children and groups, teaching English.

If the volunteer has skills and experience in other areas, additional subjects may also be taught such as maths and science. Schools in Costa Rica are severely under- resourced and volunteers are desperately sought to help children learn to their full potential. Volunteers in the Teaching English program will help underprivileged children in Costa Rica have a chance at learning this fundamental language and skill to aid their future prospects.

Goals of this Project:

  • Provide free English language skills to the children of the wonderful cultural city of San Ramon
  • Improve the prospects of the children of Costa Rica
  • Expose non-English speakers to native English speakers to improve pronunciation and conversational skills
  • Enable inter-cultural exchange which benefits both students and international volunteers alike.
