Due to extreme poverty, gender bias towards males and ill health, thousands of orphans in India are given refuge in orphanages and shelter homes run by various non-governmental organizations. The children who find themselves living at one of these facilities have often come from tremendously difficult and traumatic circumstances, leaving them distressed and detached from the joys of childhood we so often take for granted.

The aim of this wonderful program then is to assist in helping with, and caring for these neglected children, and the assistance of international volunteers is desperately needed. Volunteers will participate in the daily routines and can make a great contribution just by being caring and giving the children some much-needed attention. By being there to offer care and compassion, volunteers are making a huge impact on the lives of these wonderful children.

Goals of this Project:

  • Provide essential childcare to vulnerable children in Delhi
  • Improve the future prospects of the children in Delhi
  • Give impoverished and vulnerable children quality care, compassion and a sense of hope
  • Enable inter-cultural exchange which benefits both locals and international volunteers alike.
