Based in the historic Nicaraguan city of Granada, volunteers will work mainly in the outlying rural areas to provide support to its impoverished inhabitants. This health and medical program is designed for medical students and health professionals from diverse areas and backgrounds, to work in rural clinics helping patients who have very limited access to health services.

It is best suited to medical students, physiotherapists and those with a medical or health background. Volunteers on this crucial medical program will work alongside local doctors and nurses to treat different conditions and prevent health issues through education and care. This is an area with scarce resources and high healthcare needs, which is why volunteer help is so essential. Volunteers will gain beneficial medical experience while helping those in true need.

Goals of this Project:

  • Make a real difference to the rural people in the outlying areas of Granada
  • Provide free healthcare to those who need it most
  • Improve the health and long-term well-being of some of Nicaragua’s most impoverished people
  • Offer a teaching experience for medical students while also supplying a much-needed volunteer labor force to benefit locals
