This programme allows you to gain unrivalled experience by working in South Africa on a Big 5 game reserve. Work with creatures great and small, from elephants to sheep, from zebra to primates.

This is a veterinary experience like no other. You will be the dynamic environment of a Big 5 game reserve, where you will be immersing yourself in the life of a vet and wildlife expert. In this time, you will help with a variety of tasks such as:

  • treating wounds
  • doing game counts
  • doing autopsies on lion kills
  • giving injections
  • doing fence patrols
  • caring for animals in the rehabilitation centre
  • monitoring the animals in the reserve
  • promoting the natural environment of the game reserve
  • helping with game captures

You will be living in a beautiful Big 5 game reserve, sharing dorm accommodation with other participants. You have access to a swimming pool, games room and lovely big living areas equipped with TVs and plenty of films.

In your free time, head along the Garden Route or into the lively city of Port Elizabeth.
