Volunteer with rescued elephants in Laos, helping to give them a life as close to the wild as possible. In their former lives, these elephants were being put to work in the logging industry, a backbreakingly hard job. They have now been brought to the centre to live out the rest of their days in peace.
As an elephant volunteer in Laos, you will become fully immersed in the care of these gentle giants. Volunteers help to monitor the elephants as they enjoy their newfound freedom, create enrichments to stimulate their wild behaviour and help with general maintenance of the centre.
Each day involves seeing the elephants bathing, socialising, playing and feeding. You will learn a huge amount about the elephants, how the centre cares for them and what has happened to them in the past.
You will be living on site at the centre, in a stunning location surrounded by a large lake and towering mountains. You will be sharing a room with one other volunteer in a volunteer house.
Food is provided by the project and is very delicious.
