Para La Tierra is a small team of dedicated conservationists working together to protect the incredible biodiversity of Paraguay's amazing habitats.
We believe in a responsible approach to tourism where visitors contribute to social, scientific and conservation projects that are designed to have a positive impact on Paraguay. Our successes stems from our huge network of volunteers and supporters who have helped contribute to share our mission and vision.
Since April 2010 we’ve welcomed more than 400 ecologically minded visitors to assist with more than 60 distinct projects in Paraguay. We’ve discovered more than 50 new species for Paraguay, including eight reptiles, an armadillo and many insects. Read more about our discoveries in our scientific publications.
Volunteer
Our projects all need help from volunteers and interns who learn along-side our team through participatory peer-to-peer action. We want you to arrive in Paraguay ready to contribute, and leave having accomplished something amazing.
Volunteerships are now available at multiple sites. When you apply please let us know if you're interested in working at a particular site. There are volunteer opportunities in conservation science and community engagement through projects such as:
- Primatology
- Ornithology
- Environmental education
- Non-profit management
- Museum and library studies
As a volunteer you have complete freedom to get involved with anything that takes your fancy. Help some of the Para La Tierra interns on their independent projects. Contribute to scientific conversation, learn from others and share your own knowledge and experience. You’ll have the opportunity to learn conservation field techniques as you explore our neotropical study sites.
