The animal sanctuary has been working for 15 years to rehabilitate a variety of animals that have been taken to the centre for reasons such as injury or loss of habitat. Some animals are not able to return to the wild due to the severity of their injuries; the centre helps with the treatment of these animals and provides them with an environment which is as close to their natural habitat as possible.

The sanctuary is home to a wide range of animals, including pumas, howler monkeys, llamas, guanacos, and many others. Volunteers are involved in a variety of tasks, including feeding and caring for the animals, planting seeds as part of a reforestation project, working in the greenhouse, general maintenance of trails and facilities, and building animal enclosures.
