Although Samoa attracts many tourists to its paradise beaches, it remains on the United Nations' list of least developed nations - it has a very low gross domestic product (GDP) and relies on international aid from a number of governments.

The volunteering placements that we offer are in kindergartens and in schools for children with disabilities. Volunteers work on goals set out by our Care Management Plan, including running educational games and group activities, helping to improve the language and numeracy skills of the children, and promoting early childhood development.

Whilst we can offer placements to volunteers of all levels of experience, we also welcome those with professional qualifications and experience to take part on this programme. Volunteers with experience in social work and teaching children with special needs are welcome as are those with training in physiotherapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy.
