The focus of the Projects Abroad Human Rights Office is to defend the rights of local women and children, working primarily with women's groups and a juvenile centre, providing support to individuals who have suffered human rights violations as well as education on relevant legal matters.

The Office also works with a local Non-Government Organisation which works with local women, particularly widows who have faced injustice. Volunteers may also have the opportunity to work with this NGO during their placement.

The project is a great opportunity for university students or recent graduates; however we are happy to accept volunteers of all levels of experience. Your role at the project will be determined by your previous experience as well as any areas of interest you have.

We also have Human Rights projects in Argentina, Cambodia, Ghana, Jamaica, Mongolia, Senegal, South Africa and Togo!
