The organisations focus on building local community empowerment and sustainability. This can involve anything from soup kitchens to awareness education and training support schemes. They also tackle issues such as unemployment, crime, domestic violence and alcohol abuse.

There are a number of ways in which volunteers can get involved and offer their support. This includes helping out with administration, marketing, fundraising, market research, workshops and business development. As a volunteer, you will be able to support marginalised communities abroad to enhance and empower them. You will gain a well-rounded view of how international development charities or NGOs work.
