Teaching volunteers in Asia give underprivileged children access to a native English-speaking teacher. This allows them to advance further in their studies and practice their skills, giving them the confidence to speak and write in English. This will give them the opportunity to find better paid jobs as adults - an increasing amount of jobs require or prefer English-speaking skills.

Most volunteers will start their placement by assisting a local teacher, usually helping with conversational skills and correct pronunciation. Volunteers may even get the chance to teach their own classes once they feel confident and have built up a rapport with the local teaching staff.

In some destinations volunteers can choose to help out in other subjects and extra-curricular activities, such as music and sports. As well as teaching lessons, volunteers may assist with lesson planning and marking work.

We also welcome professionally qualified teachers for volunteering placements. These professional placements allow you to put your skills and expertise to the best use not only through teaching children but also through exchanging knowledge and ideas with local staff.
