This is a very fun and structured program which includes helping communities and travelling to see more of this West African country. When you arrive in Ghana you will be met by representatives who will transport you to your accommodation. There will be time to relax and call home to let them know you got there okay. The next day will be exciting as you will be transported to the volunteering project where you will be met by friendly people who will introduce you to their culture.

Expect local people to welcome you and want to learn about where you come from. You will also be given information on projects you will be helping like working within poor communities or with people affected by HIV / Aids. You will also be able to help development programs like teaching local people English or helping them learn new skills. You'll be volunteering with other internationals and working alongside local people.

These placements are also very social, you'll be able to interact with local villagers and also really get to know the other volunteers. Visiting and helping villages is very rewarding and in the evenings you might be able to join local music, cooking and language events. In your spare time you might want to visit the highest mountain or biggest waterfall in Ghana. A visit to the a monkey sanctuary is also very recommended whilst bartering for food and goods at a market is a unique experience.
