You can participate on volunteer exchanges where you will live and teach in Moshi, Tanzania which is located in East Africa. This is a popular destination as there are lots of excursions in the surrounding areas. On volunteering programs you will get lots of free time to explore and see more of this country.

You will not need any previous teaching experience to volunteer in Tanzania as a teacher, information and training will be provided. On placements you will be working in primary and secondary schools with children usually aged around 5 - 12. Schools in Africa are underfunded and volunteers are needed to help at schools and help educate local children.

You will work alongside local teachers who will be able to help and support you during a placement. You will need to be patient on these placements, classes will be very different to what you have experienced before and some days might be challenging. Children get taught lessons like English, science, music, maths and art. You will be able to lead lessons and generally help out during the week whilst you will have weekends free to travel and relax.

If this initial description of teaching English as a volunteer in Tanzania appeals to you, please enquiry for more information with Volunteering Solutions or apply for a life changing experience.
