Journalism Work Experience
You will usually work in small but dynamic teams of reporters who strive to bring clear, transparent news to an English-speaking audience. You will need to research news sources and use original research to produce its news material.
Tasks can include delivering unbiased news that is free from association with political or business interest groups. In this fast paced environment, interns help to deliver transparent news to global readers. Interns will be engaged as full-on members of the enterprising newsroom. Where you go really depends on the company you are interested in working for, or the destination which appeals to you. There are placements in developing countries like Bolivia, Cambodia, Ethiopia, India, Moldova, Mongolia, Romania, Senegal and more.
You can also apply in countries like Australia, New Zealand, the UK, USA and South Africa. We recommend you be open to different countries, a lot of the local projects we promote are in developing countries which can be challenging to work in but also the experience of a lifetime.
Publishing, Newspapers and Magazines Internships
There are lots of places you can work as part of magazine/newspaper production writing content, researching stories, editing and publishing.
You will work alongside local staff in various different departments of a publishing company and there are lots of different tasks and you could help with any areas of production including editorial, multimedia design, print and design and marketing.
You could be helping at newspapers and magazines in countries like Ghana, China, Thailand or Australia. In this position, the intern will have the final responsibility of checking articles for accuracy, and ensuring perfect grammar, spelling, and punctuation of articles published.

Dates
You can apply in advance and book a spot for a future date. You will need to get your application in early if you have any specific dates in mind. Usually you will need to commitment for at least four weeks but this can vary depending on the company.
Working Hours
You will usually work from Monday to Friday and an average workday lasts for around 6 - 8 hours. However, this can vary and sometimes you might need to work weekends too for example you might be covering stories on a Saturday/Sunday.
