CCD were interested to hear from people who wanted to volunteer in Thailand.

CCD loved having volunteers! In fact, CCD relied on volunteers to keep a high ratio of carers to children in their daycare centres. CCD also loved the fresh enthusiasm and ideas brought by volunteers from all over the world. A good volunteer could have been such an encouragement and blessing to CCD. CCD asked volunteers to cover the cost of their trip themselves. This included flights, food, visas and a contribution towards rent (£40 a month). This is so that more CCD money could reach children.

CCD placed volunteers in one of four daycare centres - Rainbow House Daycare, Fuang Fah Daycare, Rachawadee Girls or Rachawadee Boys - and even in the wards themselves if you had physiotherapy or nursing skills.

CCD allocated daycare centres volunteers worked at before their arrival. CCD workers representing CCD and were expected to follow their ethical code in your treatment towards children, the Government staff, and in conduct outside of working hours.

Working hours were Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm. Volunteers were expected to participate and help in all areas of care in order to provide for the needs of children and young people.

CCD has now stopped operating. For similar opportunities browse our volunteer abroad directory.
