WHAT DOES THE PROJECT DO?
This amazing action packed tour will give you an incredible opportunity to experience the best bits of the Asian subcontinent, intermixing a period of worthwhile volunteering with world famous sites, epic treks, jungle safaris, meditation and visits to traditional tea houses in the mountain foothills of the Himalayas. This once in a lifetime cultural immersion and adventure tour in this charismatic spiritual country is not to be missed!
Throughout the trip you will be travelling as part of a group, sharing unforgettable experiences as your senses awaken to the sights, sounds and smells of Nepal.
First Leg - Kathmandu Introduction
Your first week is designed to introduce you to the Nepali way of life, giving you the opportunity to explore the history and culture of Nepal, with visits to local sites of special interest, starting in the capital city, Kathmandu. Friendly representatives will take you on an exciting city tour which includes the chance to see the unique parts of the city. You’ll also visit some important historical and cultural landmark sites, including the orientation tour to Bouddhanath and talks given by academics on the country’s religion and history. Following this wonderful opportunity to fully immerse yourself in your new surroundings, the briefing for your imminent adventure will begin. You’ll be feeling happy and confident to begin exploring the intricate beauty of Nepal!
Second Leg - Adventure Time!
From here you will leave the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu behind as you head out on a short hike around the surrounding villages and experience the idyllic life of rural Nepal, before joining an adrenaline packed white water rafting adventure along the Trisuli River!
When you have dried off you will continue on to the humid plains of the south and the wilderness of the Royal Chitwan National Park, home to the famous one horned rhinoceros, wild elephants and tigers! You will round off this action packed leg with a well deserved rest in Nepal’s most popular city, Pokhara, set at the foot of the Annapurna range and on the shores of Lake Phew.
Third Leg - Trekking in the Annapurna Region
The third leg of the trip will commence with the amazing 5 day trek to Poon Hill, against the back-drop of the Annapurna mountain range – expect welcoming tea houses and mind blowing views. On the way back from the trek you’ll receive a relaxing authentic Nepalese massage.
The next day you will attend a Yoga and Meditation class, where you will learn how to hone your technique and achieve relaxation like never before.
Fourth Leg - Volunteering Placement in Kathmandu
The last leg of the tour will see you take part in a rewarding community volunteering project, where you can assist and lend a helping hand at the project of your choice. Our coordinators will train and give you assistance during this week, so you’ll be prepared in no time!
