The Foundation was established in May 2008 and registered as a Non-Profit Organisation with the South African Department of Social Development 064-554-NPO and its autonomy allows it to raise funds for a variety of projects, scholarships and bursaries.
It is dedicated to offer young people from low-income communities much needed tourism education to enable them to become stakeholders within the tourism industry and encourage responsible tourism development in Africa to eradicate poverty on the continent.
The objects of the Foundation, as set out in the constitution of the Africa Adventure Cape to Cape Foundation are as follows:-
Sustainable Objectives:
To actively promote reliable and sustainable tourism development throughout sub-Saharan Africa to the benefit of the whole society, and future generations.
Educational and Developmental Objectives:
To promote and provide both formal and informal tourism education to youth, with a view of enabling them to become stakeholders within the tourism industry by providing opportunities for employment and income generation in order to alleviate poverty and deprivation experienced by disadvantaged communities, with particular concern for their unemployment and lack of essential communal facilities and amenities.
Charitable Objectives:
To utilise the resources of the Foundation and those available through partners in the tourism industry sharing a common goal, to empower youth through scholarships and bursaries for programs in keeping with the Foundation's Educational and Developmental Objectives and providing books and / or equipment for programs in line with the Foundation's objectives.
In so doing, supporting and / or developing skills programmes to address unemployment through sustainable tourism development. Generally give effect to any actions necessary or expedient to achieve the objects of the project.
It is therefore that we provide the following:
- Training for unemployed persons with the purpose of enabling them to obtain employment within the tourism industry
- Career guidance and counselling services to persons for purpose of attending any school or higher education institution
- Programmes addressing needs in education provision, learning, teaching, and training at schools and educational institutions
- Educational enrichment, academic support and supplementary tuition for the poor and needy
- The provision of scholarships and bursaries for study, research and teaching.
