Operating in 85% of local councils in England, with 54,000 homes as well as dedicated teams of business professionals working in our Bradford and London offices, more than 9,000 of us work towards the same goal: Transforming housing and care so everyone can have a home where they love living in later life.
Careers
Care and housing for older people is our business. But it’s also our passion.
We have vacancies for Scheme Managers, other Scheme based roles, i.e. Cleaners, Gardeners, Area Managers and Administration Staff as well as vacancies in Marketing, HR and Finance. There is also a study program in place to support the development of our staff.
Please note all applicants for our care opportunities must already hold the legal right to work in the UK.
Volunteering
By volunteering with Anchor, a little of your time will make a big difference.
We’re always looking for friendly, approachable people to spend time with our customers. Whatever your background, interests and experience, we’ll find the right opportunity for you.
What will I be doing as a volunteer?
Every volunteering opportunity is different, but in essence each is about making friends, sharing hobbies/interests, and creating new experiences.
Our care home and housing customers come from all walks of life and we’ll aim to pair you with someone who shares similar interests to you or who could benefit from your skills and knowledge.
At the most basic level, you could just spend time together doing things you both enjoy.
At the other end of the scale, you could help to deliver tailored activities in our care homes that are designed to help someone living with dementia.
We also have customers who aren’t fluent in English who would benefit hugely from being able to speak with someone in their own language.
Some of our customers need help getting out and about. Others would simply enjoy hearing about your experiences and appreciate the companionship.
Whatever you have to offer, we can help you find the right volunteering opportunity to suit your interests.
