There are many different areas where you can help out. For those who have specific skills that could be beneficial to helping the organization, there is always something you can do. These could be technical skills that could help with the website, graphic design or photography; or any experience in areas such as publicity, writing, education, or translating. Often drivers are also required for transporting animals/materials/merchandise to events.
Here are some specific ways you can make a difference at Animals Taiwan:
Help out at the Rescue Center
For those more interested in hands on help, why not volunteer at the rescue center in Beitou? You can help with the regular routine of walking dogs, playing with cats, feeding, washing, and giving any medicine to the animals. All new volunteers will need to attend our new monthly volunteer training session prior to beginning any volunteer work.
Groups of 5 people or more must inform Animals Taiwan beforehand to arrange a visit. Because dog walking is weather-permitting, if it rains or is too hot, dog-walking will be cancelled. After attending volunteer training, we welcome you to visit the rescue center. From 10am-12pm you can help clean our furry friend's living areas.
To walk the dogs by the seawall (across from the center), or play with the cats in the cat room, please come between 12pm and 4pm. Our animals at the rescue centre greatly appreciate your love and affection, and I'm sure you'll have a great time!
Students seeking to obtain credit for volunteering:
- Must attend volunteer training session.
- Must contact Animals Taiwan beforehand to schedule volunteer credit.
- Credit will only be given to volunteer work at the rescue center for cleaning.
- A maximum of two hour credit per visit will be given for cleaning from 10am~12pm. Other volunteer work such as dog walking and volunteering at events will not be given volunteer credit.
- Students that are 16 years old or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the whole duration of your visit.
Help us with Writing and Design
It is important to let more people get to know our animals and the work that Animals Taiwan does. We are in need of volunteers to write and translate adoption profiles, rescue stories, contribute to our periodic e-newsletter and design other materials.
Volunteer or Organize an Event

Help us with Animal Rescues and CNR
For those of you who can drive, we need volunteers to drive animals to/pick animals up from the vet. We also need volunteers to join our CNR (Catch-Neuter-Return) team to efficiently control the stray population.
