Many people together form the mountain forest project. It is patrons and sponsors who support the project financially and ideally.
There are thousands of volunteers who spend a week of free time working in the mountain forest for a week somewhere in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany, Austria and the Pyrenees in rough terrain. It is the forest workers, the foresters, the cantonal officials of the forestry offices and the forest owners who together with the project leaders organize and facilitate the projects. It is the visitors who stop by spontaneously in a project week. It is the board of trustees, it is the cooks, the project leaders, the group leaders and also the employees at the office.
The original form and core of the mountain forest project. In 1987, the first week-long operation took place in Malans, Graubünden. Motto: Everyone is talking about the forest, we are going! The project lasts from Sunday afternoon to Saturday morning. Men and women from 18 to 88 years can participate, no forestry skills are required. The volunteers work in groups of 6 to 20 people under professional guidance and their use is free.
