Established in 1989, Cadmus Lifesharing Association is a community of families in and around Great Barrington, MA who share their lives with people with disabilities.
We operate on the principles of shared vision, interdependence and interaction. We believe that a system based on these principles will value people and create conditions for those with disabilities to be supported and treated with dignity, respect and attention to the specifics of their individual lives. We believe that people learn, live and labor most effectively when they are appreciated, honored and valued for the contributions they make to the common good.
We are licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts through the Department of Developmental Disabilities.
Work For Us
Perhaps you are sitting at home looking for something different? alternative? You have an interest in helping others with intellectual and developmental disabilities, but most "Service Provider" models leave a sense of dissatisfaction?
Cadmus LifeSharing is an intentional community in the Berkshires, Great Barrington, MA, where we strive together to create meaningful lives for individuals with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities, working primarily out of the Anthroposophical modality (think Waldorf Schools and Camphill Communities).
Volunteer benefits include room and board, a monthly stipend, auto use, and participation in weekly adult education sessions related to studying youth guidance and social therapy from the Anthroposophical view of the human being.
