Your experience at Chipinaw will be a perfect blend of Chipinaw's rich history and traditions along with all the latest and greatest facilities and activities that one would expect from a superior summer camp. We welcome boys and girls age 7 through 16 to join us for a summer of Fun, Friends, Sports, Arts and Adventure.
Chipinaw is truly unique as we have two premier overnight summer camps virtually on one property. Chipinaw and Silver Lake are neighboring camps located deep in the heart of New York's beautiful Catskill Mountains.
We give our campers the opportunity to stay for the full summer at Chipinaw, or to enjoy all the Chipinaw fun in half the time at Silver Lake. Our camps are situated on over 300 acres, including the magnificent 96-acre Silver Lake. As you navigate through our summer website we hope you find that Chipinaw and Silver Lake are more than just neighbors. We are a family!
Staff
Our programs at Camp Chipinaw can only be as good as the people who lead them. That is why we pride ourselves on our wonderful staff of talented counselors, chosen from applicants all over the country and around the world. We look for energetic and responsible individuals who are ready for a summer full of laughter, friendships, and fun.
With a staff/camper ratio of approximately 1:3, our staff gets to know the campers well. In addition, many of our counselors continue to return year after year, as they have become attached to the Chipinaw summer camp family. From professional teachers and educators to college students and former Chipinaw campers, our loyal staff is a made up of a diverse group of people who all bring something uniquely wonderful to our resident camps.
Our staff comes from all over the United States and around the world. We take the time to attend staff hiring fairs at top colleges and universities throughout the states as well as in Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland, Amsterdam, Hungary, and Mexico. We feel that a diverse staff gives our campers the chance to learn a little bit about different cultures and to meet people from around the globe.
