Program Details:
Camp Gan Israel of Chestnut Hill offers an extensive array of enjoyable, creative and skill building activities. We encourage campers to participate, to try their best and express themselves in their own unique way. Daily activities include swimming, nature, art, yoga, music, cooking, challah baking, creative movement, hip hop, music, athletics, science and more. Specialty camps for the first grade and up include woodworking, dance, art, tennis, sports, magic, chess, drama, rock band, martial arts and circus arts. Campers enjoy weekly field trips, shows and special events.
Jewish Life
This camp is a wonderful place for children to take pride in, and enrich their Jewish identity. Children from diverse Jewish affiliations and backgrounds take part in community service projects, sing Jewish and Hebrew songs and learn about Israel and holidays. They emerge with a sense of connection to their community.
Swim Program
Our swim program offers small group instruction and individualized attention for each child. Children are bused to an off- site swimming pool which is monitored by trained and licensed aquatic professionals.
Campsite
The campus features several acres of grassy playing fields, and includes tennis courts, basketball courts, and 3 playgrounds with extensive climbing equipment. The indoor facility is air-conditioned and has a gymnasium, art studio, activity rooms, multipurpose rooms and a cafeteria.
Staff
Staff is made up of experienced teachers, educational professionals, Jewish leaders, college and high school students and child development specialists. Every member of our staff has a deep commitment to the well-being of each child and is committed to providing a safe and secure environment where children thrive. Our leadership possess a wealth of knowledge and experience and provide one on one mentoring to the counselors. Staff is intensively trained, including CPR and first aid. We work together to ensure that each child’s individual needs and the groups’ needs are met. We create an environment where campers build confidence, try new things, express themselves, and have FUN!
