We strive to create a respectful camp environment where staff are supervised and supported and where everyone is given the opportunity to express their ideas.
Everyone at White Pine is involved in developing what happens at camp each summer. Programming is done on all levels. Campers are involved in planning activities, evening programs, trips, cabin projects and special events.
Counsellors work with their campers to develop these ideas and interests. Activity instructors develop projects, themes and special events in their specialty areas.
The emphasis is on the cabin group. Both counsellors and activity instructors live with a group of campers. Campers do most of their activities, trips, themes, projects and special events with their cabin group. Campers also get to individualize and focus on their favourite activities in free-choice periods.
We believe that staff return for many years because they are treated with respect and given the opportunity to take ownership of their summers by planning programs, making decisions, giving input, and helping to implement positive growth in campers and the camp itself.
If you enjoy working with people and want to gain experience that will be beneficial to your career, Camp White Pine is the ideal place to work.
