We work to protect, promote and enhance our towns and countryside to make them better places to live, work and enjoy, and to ensure the countryside is protected for now and future generations.

Volunteer

CPRE has over 1200 volunteers across all 43 counties in England!

Being part of a team, developing skills, and knowing that you're helping a great cause – these are just three brilliant reasons to volunteer.

CPRE has local branches covering every county in England and they are critical to our success as they are the ‘eyes and ears’ of our work. Without our branches, we wouldn’t know half as much as we do about what is going on across our beautiful, living countryside. And from Durham to Doncaster, Penanze to Penrith, you will find a local branch near you.

Behind each branch is a dedicated team of volunteers helping CPRE achieve its charitable objective: “to protect, promote and enhance our towns and countryside to make them better places to live, work and enjoy, and to ensure the countryside is protected for now and future generations.”

CPRE could not do what it does without these volunteers: they are our lifeblood. Volunteers bring us a wide variety of skills and time, from being Chairmen of our branches to organising a host of exciting events in their areas. It is thanks to volunteers that we can do what we achieve…

We always need more help!

Why volunteer?

We don’t have a typical volunteer - but every person who volunteers for us does have one thing in common: they’re absolutely vital to our work! CPRE appreciates any time our volunteers can give and that’s why at CPRE we offer a wide variety of exciting and flexible opportunities to suit your interests, skills and experience.

Here are some good reasons to volunteer for CPRE:

  • Meet like-minded people and make new friends;
  • Learn new skills – or develop current ones;
  • Build your CV;
  • Play an important part in the protection of your area;
  • Know that your support is making a fantastic contribution to the English countryside and the environment.
