Volunteering in a developing country is a fun and rewarding opportunity, but it is good to remember that it may come with some downsides.
You may find that a cold shower might not be the best way to start your day, the transport pickup is 20 minutes late or you're stuck in a thunderstorm. But do not let these frustrations get you down. The volunteers who have the best times of their lives are the ones that stay willing and flexible and embrace the experience.
Everyone you will meet in Tanzania will all share a common interest; to contribute to the project and explore this wonderful destination. The first couple of days are normally when everyone starts to bond and if you go out of your way to talk with fellow volunteers and the local team you will be amazed at just how quickly you make new friends. Many of our previous volunteers have made new lifelong friends and stay in contact - something that makes the experience even more enriching.
We recommend that you always ask questions. Be prepared for a more relaxed approach to time and a slower pace of life. Enjoy this new-found slownes
