Is God calling you to do more to help children living in poverty?
Become an advocateAt Compassion, we know all our sponsors have a heart for the poor. But for some, sponsoring is only a first step. If you long to find other ways to improve the lives of destitute children then Advocacy could be for you. The Advocacy Network provides resources, support and encouragement to people who want to do more to help children in poverty.
What Advocates can do
We encourage Advocates to use their unique gifts and interests to share their passion for helping needy children. They may choose to speak to church groups, put up posters and displays, distribute literature, run a cafe, put articles in church magazines or share the message of Compassion at events. This list is by no means exhaustive. Advocates promote Compassion in all manner of ways.
Mobilising others to respond to the needs of the poor is both effective and rewarding. It is something you can do no matter who or where you are.
What Advocates receive
Advocates receive help and support from Compassion staff and other Advocates, including:
* DVD or video resources and literature
* Access to the Advocates pages on the website
* Regular e-mail updates specifically for Advocates
