Taking part in one of our expeditions is an amazing opportunity to see some of the most spectacular reefs in the world all whilst doing your bit to help conserve them.
By joining us on a diving expedition you will learn how to dive, or improve your skills, in some of the most bio-diverse locations in the world, and become adept at identifying corals, fish and a host of other marine creatures.
Our terrestrial expedition will give you the opportunity to contribute to the on-going monitoring and management of Montserrat, allowing you the chance to become adept in the surveying of birds, amphibians, reptiles and plants. Coral Cay Conservation currently operates a marine project in the Phlippines (South East Asia), and a terrestrial and marine project in Montserrat (Caribbean).
We are committed to involving local stakeholders so that the communities we work with can benefit directly from our conservation efforts. We rely on a ‘bottom-up’ approach to conservation, with the belief that the only way to successfully preserve endangered ecosystems is by involving the local custodians throughout the process. Volunteers joining us do not need any previous science or diving training as we carry out all necessary training on site.
Due to our global reputation in the marine conservation world, we are invited by governments and international NGO’s to assist them in completing their scientific research on coral reef systems and forests around the world. By joining one of our expeditions you can be sure that your presence in the expedition country has been requested by the local community as part of their own conservation efforts.
We are open almost all year round and have start dates every 4 weeks.
