This role will suite someone who enjoys the outdoors and wants to be in the heart of true Andalusian culture as it is located in the heart of Cordoba.
Zero investment in materials (plus the pressure it puts on the teachers when you have to plan)
Higiene is shameful. Toilets are dirty and don't have locks.
Toxic environment, misinformation and lack of judgement.
You will work more hours than they let you know or that stand in your contract: you will not be paid extra.
You will be pressured into taking other lessons or external lessons. If you don't, they will blame you.
Chauvinism, racism and homophobia in your face.
Do not risk your sanity, not worth it.
Shady contracts. Bad working hours and environment. What they say is not what you get. Toxic. Stay away.
This advert is the same advert they post every year.
A few things to watch out for:
1. It is not 45 minutes from Cordoba or Malaga. It is longer and if you don't have a car getting in and out of this town is a mission
2. The flat is NOT brand new and it is expensive in relation to what you earn. More than half of your salary will go to rent and bills and dont even try use the heating - it will triple the bills. Buy lots of blankets as the flat is freezing in the cold months
3. There were never any extra occational excursions with the kids. They even said no when there was a suggestion of taking the kids out for trick and treating on Halloween
4. Your salary will be low. Negotiate!
5. Ask about the hours as what they say and what you work is different
6. Ask about working in other locations as this was sneakily told would happen once we arrived and for no extra pay or compensation
7. Check the contract as you may be put down as an assistant teacher which by law means you can't work unassisted in the classroom
8. You will make up every single one of your vacation days including worker's day and Christmas so be careful
