Work and play in Hakuba Japan. Evergreen Outdoor Center is a great place to work seasonally and we offer jobs in Japan for foreigners as well as Japanese nationals.
Preference is given to those with a love for and experience guiding/instructing in the outdoors but we do understand everyone starts somewhere and short-term positions can be given to those wishing to gain training in the outdoor industry.
Winter Positions:
For those with no Japanese ability seeking English jobs in Japan, nearly all of our clients are English speakers and we have a variety of English speaking jobs in our Hakuba Ski School from late November/ early December through to the end of February/March. We offer ski instructor jobs, snowboard instructor jobs, backcountry guide jobs, office/reservations team, daycare, drivers and cafe staff – cooks, baristas and waiting staff. All positions require appropriate licensing/certification where relevant and experience is preferred.
Summer Positions:
The majority of our clients are Japanese and Japanese-speaking ability is necessary for you to work in daily operations and be able to lead clients in the outdoors. Cafe staff and shuttle van driver staff will require some Japanese speaking ability, however fluency is not a pre-requisite. For office and reservations staff, Japanese speaking and emailing skills are essential and being bilingual (English & Japanese) is an asset. All positions require appropriate licensing/certification where relevant and experience is preferred.
