Itinerary
Day 1 Lima
Arrive at any time.
Day 2-4 Paracas/Nazca
Optional visit to Ballestas Islands before travelling to Nazca. Stop at a winery en route at the Oasis of Huacachina. Indulge in a traditional Pachamanca meal. Optional sandboarding and flight over the Nazca Lines before the night bus to Arequipa.
Day 5-8 Arequipa/Colca Canyon
Optional visit of the Catalina Convent, or visit a local hot springs. Spot condors on a guided tour to Colca Canyon. Overnight bus to Cusco.
Day 9-16 Cusco/Ollantaytambo/Inca Trail
Free time to explore Cusco. Opt to take a city tour, or go out whitewater rafting, horseback riding or mountain biking. Learn about the Sacred Valley en route to Ollantaytambo. Opt to take a Sacred Valley tour and visit a Planeterra-supported women's weaving co-op. Take in Inca culture, history, and great views on a 4-day guided Inca Trail hike with a visit to Machu Picchu. Day 17-19 Puno/Lake Titicaca
Visit the floating Islands of Uros, and take a guided tour of Lake Titicaca with a homestay in a local village. Optional visit to Sillustani burial site.
Day 20-22 La Paz
Optional excursion to the Valley of the Moon or explore the winding streets and lively markets of this high altitude city. Oxygen bar anyone? Overnight bus to Sucre.
Day 23-24 Sucre
Explore the city, opt to take an excursion to nearby dinosaur tracks or go hiking or mountain biking.
Day 25-26 Potosí
Opt to tour a working silver mine, explore the city, or visit the Casa de la Moneda museum.
Day 27-29 Uyuni/Salt Flats
3-day 4x4 excursion to the Uyuni Salt Flats and surrounding desert altiplano with spectacular scenery. Stay in simple hotels upgraded with solar panels to provide electricity and hot water.
Day 30-31 San Pedro de Atacama
Cross by 4x4 into Chile and descend by bus to San Pedro de Atacama. Optional excursions to nearby ruins, the Valley of the Moon or mountain biking.
Day 32-33 Salta
Optional activities include a trip through the scenic Quebrada de las Conchas to Cafayate, the High Mountain Arqueological Museum, exploring the city and surroundings and enjoying the local cuisine.
Day 34 Buenos Aires
Avoid a long bus journey with a quick flight to Buenos Aires. Free time to explore Argentina"s beautiful capital. Stroll the streets, go to a football match take in a tango show, and don't miss the nightlife.
Day 35 Buenos Aires
Depart at any time.
