When you arrive in South Africa you will be able to choose which project you would like to volunteer with (subject to availabilty).

You will volunteer Monday - Thursday for an average total of 20-25 hours and get invloved in fundraising projects on a Friday. Weekends are free time for volunteers with opportunities to join weekend social events for example suset treks to Lions Head, drumming workshops, townships tours etc.

All volunteers will stay in our safe, shared accommodation only 5 minutes from the beach and in a safe residential area close to shops, rerstaurants and great local bars.

 

The volunteering options that you can choose from are:


Local Community Settlements

  • Empower the and support the local communities needs through education & social improvement as well as organising social and supporting events
  • Volunteer with babies and very young children in the creche or children aged around 2-6 
  • Spend some afternoons volunteering in other roles within the community


School and Creche Assistant

  • Volunteer in a creche (ages 1-6) and help to teach the formal curriculum including arts & crafts, basic English skills etc
  • Or volunteer in a high school (ages 6-14) focussing on one-to-one tuition improving the standard education for kids in the community, in particular with their maths skills. Help to reverse the 50% drop out rate!


Disabled School Assistant

  • A challenging but rewarding one to one volunteering experience
  • Work with children between the ages of 18 months - 18 years old with varying levels of disabilities
  • You will be able to get involved with and teach a variety of different things including reading & counting as well as social skills for example dancing
  • Volunteers with physiotherapy experience are in high demand


Skills Development Projects

  • Ideally suited to volunteers that have a specialist skill to offer 
  • Skills development projects only run when they are required so get in touch with one of our travel advisors for options!


Adventure Swim & Surf Club

  • Help local kids learn to swim and surf after school!
  • Volunteer at a variety of childcare and teaching projects in the mornings
  • You will have surf lessons during the project so no previous experience is required but volunteers must be able to swim
