GSC has been a leader in the field of international volunteering designing and implementing effective volunteer programs and community development service-learning programs in Africa and Asia since 1993. GSC community training and development programs are offered year round, from two weeks to one year, in HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention, Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security, International Public Health, Cultural & Buddhist Immersion, Orphanage Care, and Teach English Abroad. Through the development of these community training programs, GSC has also attained NGO status and is a respected international development organization.
All Global Service Corps international volunteer programs begin with orientation and training by local and/or expatriate staff which thoroughly prepares volunteers for their projects and ensures their experience volunteering abroad is a successful one. GSC service-learning volunteers, interns and fellows have the opportunity to become integrated into their new communities through interaction with their local host families and in-country counterparts who welcome the opportunity to share their homes and culture with GSC volunteers. With a complete in-country staff, GSC tailors its international volunteer projects to provide both maximum benefits to the community and an unforgettable experience for GSC volunteers.
GSC launched international Volunteer Vacations in Thailand and Africa in 2008. GSC volunteer vacations are a great way to experience the rich customs of Thailand and Tanzania, while also giving a little back to a local community. GSC Volunteer Vacations are particularly suited for those who are new to international volunteering and who seek a flexible, cost effective way to volunteer overseas.
