We take on a picking team of about 10 to 15 people during the harvest season, May to August and 3 full timers.
We pick 6 days a week, sunday to friday from 7am to 1pm, the afternoons are free and so is saturday if they want it.
The strawberries are grown in polytunnels and on table top benches, its a lot more comfortable for picking and much quicker. The PYO customers pick from the same tunnels but not at the same time, we have a rotation system.
The pickers will all meet in the farm yard at 7am to start the day, the manager will explain where they will be picking. The group will mainly pick in pair through thepicked two rows in the polytunnel. They will be given a tray with punnets and a barrow to pick into, and then loading the fruit into the trailer to be taken to the farm yard for packing.
We have accommodation of new static caravans fully selfcontained, there is also a communal kitchen with table, games and tv if they want it.
