We accomodate up to about 30 people in several different houses in a pleasant spot 3 km outside the famous market town of Otavalo, and we get visitors from all over the world staying with us, foreign and local travellers who particularly like the views from our place which is at 10,000 feet and the walking , horseriding etc that can be enjoyed from our place.

When my wife and I are not there (we live normally in London)the place is run by our local spanish speaking employees and we would like to find volounteers who would stay there for periods of up to three months at a time to help our local staff run the place, in particular welcoming the tourists, taking bookings, helping in the restaurant, driving into town for the needs of the hostel, internet and computer work etc. The aim is to train up the local employees so that they can run the place themselves one day, as well as helping them cope with the busy season from April-October.

Our initial aim is to find one or two people to start on 1 April this year for a period of 3 months, we would offer free board and lodging to the right person(s) and we think it would particularly suit people who have an interest in helping the local people, the hospitality business, who would like to get to know Ecuador or improve their spanish language skills. There is language tuition available in the town if required, but spanish speaking will anyway be necessary as our staff dont (yet) speak much english. Again next year we are likely to need the same kind of help so this could be an ongoing relationship with you.
