Our mission is to provide Nepal's visitors with hands-on cultural experiences through volunteer placements that can create values to various communities in need.
Nepal is a land of ancient history, colourful cultures, natural beauty with spectacular views and people of warm hospitility. Insight Nepal is an organization which was established with a view to introduce Nepal's geographical and cultural environment, and also to promote understanding of cultural differences through volunteer tourism.
Insight Nepal believes that serving others is one of the most worthwhile human endeavoures. The main objective of this program is to provide opportunities to those who are interested in gaining cultural experiences by contributing their time and skills to benefit community service groups. The second objective is to help those who are looking for an opportunity to reach people in the community groups who are in need of their skills.
There are mainly three phases during the course of the program. In each phase the participants will have different activities and experiences designed to make the most of their time in Nepal.
a. Orientation phase : In this phase, participants will be given a brief orientation about the schedule of the program, health care, and some cultural clues (Dos and dont's). City tours will be arranged and basic communictgion skills in spoken Nepali will be given. Thus, this will be a preparation phase for the participants to move into their placement sites as all these activities and experiences will help them build self confidence and develop the cultural understanding.
b. Placement phse : During this phse the participants will work at their placement sites according to their interests and needs of the host organization. The participant will be under the guidence nd supervision of the host organization. Since they will be working and interacting with different people in a new environment, it will be an excellent opportunity to share their ideas and skills. This phase can be frustrating as it is rewarding but it wills be a personal experience that is unforgettable.
c. Extra outdoor activities : Insight Nepal willorganizer a 5 days trekking excursion for the participants with a view to introduce them to rural areas of Nepl. While strekking through the mountains and villages, they will share in the traditional lifestyle of the Nepali people as well as enjoy the fasciniting views of snow capped peaks, lush green valleys with their flora and fauna. Besides that a three days Buddhist meditation course will be provided at the end of the program.
Duration : 7 weeks and 3 months
Qualification : Minimum "A" level passed
Program fees : US$ 850 to $1260
Food and accommodation : Participants will stay with a Nepali family who will provide two meals a day with some tea and snacks during the whole program period.
