For all you wildlife-loving adventurers, this four day gorilla experience and safari is the best way to see all of the top wildlife spots in Uganda in a neatly packed schedule.
In the remote South-Western corner of Uganda, on the border of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, lies Mountain Gorilla Country, otherwise known as Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - Uganda’s most famous tourist destination. Deep in Bwindi you will find the fascinating creatures who attracts thousands of visitors to Uganda every year: the mountain gorilla. Looking deep into the eyes of our simian relatives, watching a family of mountain gorillas interact in the midst of the Ugandan rainforest is an experience you will never forget. This endangered primate has a total population of less than 800 left and lives only in the forests of the Virunga volcanoes and Bwindi.
Gorilla tracking is an experience like no other. To minimise disturbance to these severely endangered great apes, only eight people are allowed to track the gorillas each day, while time with the gorillas is strictly limited to one hour. As wildlife viewing goes, it’s difficult to conceive how or where on earth 60 minutes could be more rewardingly spent. Gorilla tracking offers the privilege of encountering one of the world’s rarest animals in its natural habitat, and by doing so helping to fund its continued survival.
To further satisfy your adventuring needs, our travellers will also be driving to Queen Elizabeth National Park – home to an array of wildlife including lions, giraffes and elephants. We recommend that you bring a good camera along, because you will also be taken on a boat cruise into hippo territory as we sail down the Kazinga channel.
This trip is ideal for anybody who has ever dreamed of seeing the majesty of African wildlife in their natural home. Try combining this trip with further adventures into Kenya or Tanzania to maximise your time in this beautiful continent.

Itinerary
Day 1: The Adventure Begins
Today you will either be picked up from Kampala or Masaka Town (depending on where you are starting from) and drive to the famous Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here you’ll see a diversity of wildlife, including lions, leopards, giraffes, antelopes, elephants and warthogs. This afternoon we will have a boat cruise on the kazinga channel which boasts one of the largest hippo recreation grounds in the world, as well as numerous Nile crocodiles. Tonight we will stay at the boutique Marafiki Safari Lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Day 2: First Night in the Rainforest
After breakfast we will have a morning game drive in the park before making our way to the mystical Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Bwindi National Park is a world heritage site as it’s biologically one of the most diverse forests in Africa. Fondly known as the Impenetrable Forest it remains home to half of the world’s gorilla population. This evening we will enjoy the view of the forest from a beautiful rainforest lodge.
Day 3: Your Encounter with Gorillas!
Today we will make our way into the forest in search of the famed gorillas. Find out how the Impenetrable Forest gets its name as we ascend through a mountainous and heavily forested African terrain. It’s all worth it when you finally see these incredible creatures. Get the opportunity to be up close with a gorilla family and spend an hour watching in awe as they play, forage and interact. We guarantee this moment will stay with you forever. At the end of the day we will trek back to base and head back to camp for a well-deserved shower and rest.

At a time that suits, you will be picked up and taken back to Entebbe Airport in Kampala for your outbound flight back home or onwards to Kenya, Ethiopia, or Tanzania for your next Inspired Escape in Africa.
