You will have a unique chance to volunteer, get to know the families you are fundraiasing for, and challenge yourself on an unforgettable trek through the Rwenzori Mountains.
The trek takes you to Mountain Rwenzori (Mountains of the moon), a World Heritage Site. The 120 kilometer Rwenzori chain is commonly referred to be the legendary snow covered Mountains which Ptolemy described in AD150 as the “mountains of the Moon”. The rugged peak covered with mist and the distinctive ice covered peaks noticeable miles away, offer breathtaking backgrounds to this stunning mountain and rewards your eyes with the beauty you will never forget. Taking a safari up the Rwenzoris is a very exhilarating and satisfying experience that you will not easily enjoy elsewhere across Africa.
The eastern side of Mountain Rwenzori receives large amounts of rainfall that have resulted into the shriving of a luxuriant mountain vegetation to that grows to bizarre proportions, with huge lobelia plus groundsel that grow up to 10 meters. This has drawn in various birds plus animals that can survive in this flourishing vegetation.
