For over 50 years, International Summer Camp Montana has employed European traditions in the development of physical and intellectual achievement. The philosophy of the Camp is to provide both an active and healthy outdoor experience, through sport and activity, in a creative and wholesome environment. Through the wide range of activities offered, our Campers are gain exposure to and enhance their 21st century skills - communication, critical thinking, collaboration and creativity - whilst also growing in maturity and independence. 

 

Staff

Our program staff comprises of counselors, sports and activity instructors, language teachers, night guards, receptionists and specialist roles, such as photographers, movie producers and the overnight guide. In total, we have some 120 people working in a seasonal role in the program. Staff members are carefully chosen on the basis of their age, education, experience, maturity and ability to work with children. Moreover, four resident nurses (including a ‘Night Nurse’) and a local, on-call physician are responsible for the health of both Campers and staff members. The Camp Directors are each in charge of specific facets: programming, educational supervision, catering and administration.

International Summer Camp Montana is always seeking energetic, talented and responsible people with a commitment to education, leadership and development. 

General Requirements: Working with children is a difficult task, which requires a lot of patience, perseverance and energy. In addition, essential requirements are a fondness of children, friendliness, a sense of responsibility, initiative, talent for organising and teaching, punctuality and enthusiasm. Previous experience at a day/overnight camp, schools or youth organisation will be of benefit towards a successful application. 

  • Minimum age: 19 for Counselors and 20 for all other positions 
  • Dates: June 18th to August 25th, mandatory staff training June 18th to June 23rd 
  • Applicants need to be available for the entire summer season. 

N.B. Only Swiss, EU Citizens, US, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand and South African passport holders can obtain a work permit. Remuneration: Individual offers of employment are sent to successful applicants based on age, professional qualifications and experience.
