Morocco has friendly locals and enjoys a warm climate all year round and is a highly recommended country to volunteer in. You could participate solo, or volunteer with friends or family members which is increasingly popular. On these programs you will be working alongside local staff and other international volunteers, placements are also flexible so you could join for a week or even stay for over a 6 month period depending on your availability. In Morocco you could help childcare projects, work with women, teach various subjects like English or French and even join special programs which run during the holy period of Ramadan. Projects are located throughout the country including the capital city of Rabat whilst you could also be living and volunteering in the Moroccan Atlas Mountains, Oasis or desert.

The Moroccan government are pumping a lot of money and effort into improving living and educational standards in the country and you can play a role in helping too. If you would like to join teaching volunteer programs you will need to be fluent in either English or French, the role includes helping local teachers, creating fun games and working to improve the children or youngsters abilities. No teaching experience is needed to apply but you will need to be enthusiastic and outgoing. On childcare programs you might be helping in disadvantaged communities leading exciting games and activities, whilst female empowerment programs are rewarding where you can help women or work to improve gender equality.

You will need to be aged over 18 to apply but no specific previous experience is needed to volunteer in Morocco, information and training will be provided prior to joining programs. There will also be lots of free time to travel and enjoy more of what this popular tourist destination has to offer, we recommend visiting a local market and bargaining with locals or heading out into the desert.
