Now it has grown into a huge social service organization working for rescue and rehabilitation of orphaned children, the abandoned elderly, women in distress, people of gypsy community, people addicted to drugs and liquor and victims of natural disasters in rural and urban Tamil Nadu.
These people need help - a home, an education, someone with whom to share their problems, or just care and companionship. Yet, having little or no money and no-one to turn to, they are often left neglected and alone. So, by providing shelter, support, counselling, and empowerment, we give them a chance to live the life they deserve. One filled with hope and happiness.

KKSS is privileged to function as a resource center for students and volunteers. The space given for students from the field of social work, medicine, journalism and law through internship programs provides them an opportunity for gaining hands on experience to compliment their theoretical base.
Volunteers from diverse culture and educational background are offered a platform to field test their learning through research projects. Cross cultural competency is also aimed through the facilitation of the mutual learning process.
Projects
1. For welfare of Children
Imparting supplementary education to underprivileged children; Giving English classes; Organizing extracurricular activities like dance, yoga, music; Accompanying children to parks, musiums etc; Organizing educative sessions on personal hygeine, behavioral problems, coping skills etc.; Helping in official documentation work; Fundraising; or any other activity in area of your expertise which can help underprivileged kids.
2. For welfare of Women
Skill/Vocational training; Income generation activities; Conducting educative sessions on personal hygeine, confidence building and psycho-social support; Any other activity in area of your expertise which can help underprivileged women.
3. For welfare of Elders
Spending time/interacting with elders ; Involving elders in indoor games, gardening, craft work, yoga, meditation etc.; Conducting group sessions on happy egeing, psycho-social care, personal hygeine etc.; Accompanying elders for outdoor visits in parks etc.; Fundraising; Any other activity in area of your expertise which can help elders.
4. In other community programs
Volunteering for our gypsy settlement programs; Conducting various activities in our de-addiction centers; providing your expertise to increase efficiency of our social welfare programs etc.
We are probably the only NGO in south India which has such diversity of programs running successfully under one umbrella. No matter what your area of interest is, you can find a program at KKSS where you will feel immense satisfaction in volunteering.
