Apart from running 5 schools for children of Madurai, LVS is also engaged in various community projects under “Aroghya Trust”.
One of the important activities is running a community college where adolescents from rural areas are provided with skill training and placed in reputed industries and institutions. Every year around 2000 students are placed and they get an average monthly income of Rs. 3000 to 8000 ($600 to 1800).
Another important activity is providing learning support to children in the neighborhood, those who go to different schools and who cannot afford private tuition. This is a professionally run learning centre primarily supported by LVS school teachers and Research and Development.
Whom we look for:
1. Volunteers who can help the children in Learning Centre and Community college with Communicative English.
2. Volunteers who can help the children in Learning centre with Arts and Craft and Drama
The organization can take care of local logistics like accommodation and simple vegetarian food.
