Volunteers on this program work together with local teachers to provide Palestinian children and youth with educational programs important for growth and development. The main areas of education are languages, arts, technology, and sports. Class sizes are kept small to create an atmosphere that is positive and encouraging, and are held in a wide range of locations — community centers, libraries, private schools, refugee camps, etc.

Volunteers may be teaching in any combination of these locations, or across the street from the volunteer accommodation in the two-story English Center, which houses several classrooms, a computer lab, and a lecture hall. With English (or French)  language skills, these children will have a greater chance of employment and will also greatly aid youth into higher education.

Goals of this Project:

  • Provide free English  or French language classes to the disadvantaged people of Palestine
  • Improve the future prospects of the people of Palestine
  • Expose non-English/French speakers to native English/French speakers in order to improve pronunciation and conversational skills
  • Enable inter-cultural exchange which benefits both students and international volunteers alike.
