There are many projects on offer, with volunteers able to choose which volunteer project they wish to participate in and where their skills can be of most benefit and do the most good towards this amazing cause. One such project the Wildlife Photography initiative, a fantastic way to preserve and conserve the country’s fast depleting species due to poaching and hunting.
This project trains communities who are involved in the wildlife hunting trade and ‘tourism’ market, to instead ‘shoot’ wildlife in a more sustainable and humane way. The project trains these communities instead on wildlife photography, teaching them the importance of preserving the wildlife, from an ecological perspective, but also as a sustainable commercial activity that will provide an ongoing tourism market for years to come.
The photos are sold for profit, and also raise awareness of the plight of the country’s wildlife. There are also hands-on wildlife conservation projects on offer. Regardless of which project volunteers choose to participate on, they all work towards the common goal of saving and preserving wildlife.
Goals of this Project:
- Preserve Zimbabwe’s spectacular wildlife for future generations
- To promote volunteerism as a tool sustainable community development
- To offer affordable and exciting volunteer projects in one of the magnificent world heritage sites, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
- To create a better understanding of the African culture and value system
